Air quality today

The air quality in Bruges today is classified as Moderate. The primary pollutant measured is PM2.5 (fine particles). Recent data show a PM2.5 reference value of 13.73 µg/m³ and a PM10 reference value of 6.3 µg/m³, based on twelve valid measurements collected via OpenAQ.

These figures reflect the current monitoring snapshot for the city. This page is informational; for health guidance, use official sources such as EPA AirNow or WHO.

What the data includes

The Bruges air‑quality dataset contains seven measured variables – nitrogen dioxide (NO₂), particulate matter of three size fractions (PM1, PM2.5, PM10), relative humidity, temperature and the particle count UM003 – drawn from a total of 13 recent rows across four monitoring stations. The most recent readings were taken on 2026‑02‑10 at 18:00 UTC for NO₂ and PM10, and at 19:00 UTC for the remaining parameters, so the data are all less than three days old.

Across the city the recorded values show a modest spread. NO₂ ranges from 7.5 to 19 µg/m³ with a median of 14 µg/m³; PM10 varies widely between 5.8 and 87.1 µg/m³, median 6.3 µg/m³ and the 90th percentile near 71 µg/m³, indicating occasional high dust events. PM2.5 is much tighter, from 3.45 to 13.73 µg/m³ with a median of 3.45 µg/m³, while PM1 is reported as a single value of 8.18 µg/m³ for the Brugge station. Relative humidity and temperature are each captured once, both at 63.72 % and 12.68 °C respectively, and UM003 shows a constant count of about 1 634 particles per cm³.

The coverage is uneven: three pollutants (NO₂, PM10, PM2.5) have multiple rows from different sites, whereas the other four variables are represented by only one row each. All timestamps fall within the “updated within 3 days” freshness bucket, but because many parameters rely on a single observation, short‑term fluctuations in humidity, temperature or particle count may not be reflected. Consequently, while the dataset provides a recent snapshot of key pollutants for Bruges, spatial and temporal detail is limited for several measurements.

Data notes

The data for Bruges reflects twelve valid measurements and is updated within three days, with the most recent values recorded on 2026‑02‑10 at 19:00 UTC. This snapshot provides a timely view of current air quality but note that conditions can differ across neighbourhoods and change throughout the day, so local variations may not be captured in these aggregate figures.
