Air quality today
The air quality on Hong Kong Island is currently classified as Moderate. The primary pollutant identified is PM2.5, with a measured concentration of 13.7 µg/m³. In addition, PM10 levels are recorded at 19.5 µg/m³ based on fifteen valid observations from OpenAQ data.
These values reflect the latest available measurements for today and provide an overview of particulate matter conditions across the island. This page is informational; for health guidance, use official sources such as EPA AirNow or WHO.

What the data includes
The dataset for Hong Kong Island includes six measured pollutants – carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen dioxide (NO₂), ozone (O₃), particulate matter ≤10 µm (PM₁₀), particulate matter ≤2.5 µm (PM₂.₅) and sulphur dioxide (SO₂). Data come from 17 individual rows collected at three monitoring stations, giving a modest spatial coverage across the island. All observations were recorded on 2026‑02‑10 at 22:00 UTC, which meets the “updated within 3 days” freshness criterion for every pollutant.
For each gas the range of values captured in the latest batch is narrow enough to show typical conditions while still reflecting variability. NO₂ spans from 19.0 µg/m³ up to 61.8 µg/m³, with a median of 24.8 µg/m³; O₃ varies between 18.1 and 76.8 µg/m³, centred around a median of 66.9 µg/m³. Particulate matter is low‑level: PM₁₀ ranges from 14.1 to 19.5 µg/m³ (median 16.8) and PM₂.₅ from 7.9 to 13.7 µg/m³ (median 11.0). SO₂ shows the smallest concentrations, between 1.7 and 3.4 µg/m³ (median 2.6). CO is the only pollutant with a different station focus – the highest reading of 442.3 µg/m³ comes from Causeway Bay, while the overall CO values lie between 381.6 and 442.3 µg/m³ (median 411.95).
The data set is recent but limited in breadth: only three stations contribute, so conditions can differ across other parts of Hong Kong Island that are not directly represented. Nonetheless, the consistent timestamp across all pollutants provides a snapshot of air quality at a specific moment, with each pollutant showing a clear minimum‑maximum spread and a central tendency that can be used for short‑term comparison.
