Unhealthy for sensitive groups for Jecheon-si, South Korea

⚠️ This website is currently under active development. Some data may be incomplete or temporarily inaccurate. For health-critical decisions, please verify information through official government or environmental sources.
Categories follow US EPA AQI breakpoints for PM (estimate from latest valid measurements; this project does not compute EPA NowCast/24-hour AQI yet).

Air quality today

The overall air quality today is classified as USG. The main pollutant is PM2.5 (fine particles). Data are shown via OpenAQ and are based on 18 valid measurements collected across Jecheon-si. The assessment uses reference concentrations of 52.0 µg/m³ for PM2.5 and 70.0 µg/m³ for PM10. These reference values are applied to determine the category.

Current reported concentrations are 52.0 µg/m³ for PM2.5 and 70.0 µg/m³ for PM10. These figures are expressed in micrograms per cubic meter. The values reflect the latest available data from the measurement network. No additional pollutants are highlighted in the summary. This page is informational; for further guidance, use official sources such as EPA AirNow or WHO.

What the data includes

The Jecheon‑si air‑quality feed contains six measured pollutants – carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen dioxide (NO₂), ozone (O₃), particulate matter 10 µm (PM10), particulate matter 2.5 µm (PM2.5) and sulfur dioxide (SO₂). The dataset draws from four monitoring stations and comprises thirty individual observation rows. For each pollutant the most recent reading was recorded on 2026‑02‑10 18:00 UTC, which falls well within the 30‑day freshness window used by the source platform.

Typical values are modest across the board. CO shows a median of 0.57 ppm with the lower‑decile around 0.534 ppm and the upper‑decile reported at an implausibly high 5999.77 ppm, indicating that the extreme upper bound is a placeholder rather than a measured spike. NO₂’s median sits at 0.0187 ppm, ranging from 0.0117 ppm at the low end to a similar placeholder‑inflated high. O₃ is centred at 0.0263 ppm, while SO₂’s median is 0.0026 ppm, both with narrow observed ranges (0.0087‑0.0263 ppm for O₃ and 0.0024‑0.0034 ppm for SO₂). Particulate matter shows higher absolute numbers: PM10 has a median of 62 µg/m³ and a minimum of 44 µg/m³, and PM2.5 records a median of 45 µg/m³ with a minimum of 40 µg/m³. In each case the reported maximum of 9999 reflects a data‑quality flag rather than a true environmental extreme.

Because the maximum values for all six pollutants are placeholders, the dataset does not capture rare high‑concentration events. Consequently, while the current readings give a clear picture of typical conditions at the four stations, actual air quality in Jecheon‑si can still vary by location and moment, and occasional spikes may be absent from the available records.
