Air quality today

The air quality in Quintero today is classified as Moderate. The primary pollutant identified is PM2.5, fine particulate matter, and the latest measurements show a reference value of 17.0 µg/m³ for PM2.5 alongside a PM10 reference value of 50.0 µg/m³. Fourteen valid observations were recorded to determine these values.

Data is shown via OpenAQ. This page is informational; for health guidance, use official sources such as EPA AirNow or WHO.

What the data includes

The dataset for Quintero contains measurements of six pollutants – carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen dioxide (NO₂), ozone (O₃), particulate matter ≤10 µm (PM10), particulate matter ≤2.5 µm (PM2.5) and sulfur dioxide (SO₂). These values come from 43 individual rows collected at six monitoring stations across the city and its surroundings.

Freshness varies markedly between pollutants. The most recent observations are for SO₂, PM10 and PM2.5, all recorded on 2026‑02‑10 (14:00 UTC for SO₂, 13:00 UTC for the two particulates). In contrast, the latest CO, NO₂ and O₃ readings date back to 2021‑08‑20 (21:00 UTC), indicating that those three gases are currently represented only by older data. Overall, the newest timestamps in the set are just a few days old, but half of the pollutant series rely on measurements that are more than two years stale.

The numeric spread also differs across pollutants. SO₂ values range from 5.85 to 20.25 µg/m³ with a median of 14.36 µg/m³; CO shows a much broader distribution, from zero up to 552.94 µg/m³ and a median near 210 µg/m³. NO₂ and O₃ are tightly clustered, each spanning roughly 7–18 µg/m³ (NO₂) or 13–63 µg/m³ (O₃) with medians of 9.27 and 41.38 µg/m³ respectively. PM10 exhibits a wide range from 27.11 to an extreme 1000 µg/m³, median 37 µg/m³, while PM2.5 is limited to a single observed value of 17 µg/m³.

These points illustrate that the data set offers comprehensive coverage for some pollutants with recent readings, but for others it relies on older measurements and shows uneven spatial or temporal representation. Consequently, conditions in Quintero can differ by location and time, and the available numbers reflect those variations.
