What the data includes

Rostock’s OpenAQ feed currently provides data for seven measured pollutants – carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen oxide (NO), nitrogen dioxide (NO₂), ozone (O₃), particulate matter 10 µm (PM₁₀), particulate matter 2.5 µm (PM₂.₅) and sulphur dioxide (SO₂). The dataset comprises 24 individual rows collected from four monitoring stations across the city, but the number of stations contributing to each pollutant varies: CO, NO, NO₂, PM₁₀ and PM₂.₅ are reported from all four sites, while O₃ and SO₂ come from three stations only.

The most recent measurements were recorded on 2026‑02‑10 at 18:00 UTC for every pollutant except NO, whose latest entry dates back to 2024‑03‑11 at 11:00 UTC. This means that, apart from nitrogen oxide, the data are refreshed within the last three days, giving a fairly up‑to‑date picture of current conditions. Median values show a relatively tight spread for most species: NO₂ sits at a median of about 24.9 µg/m³ (range 11.6–35.0), PM₁₀ at 40.0 µg/m³ (38.8–41.4) and PM₂.₅ at 38.8 µg/m³ (35.7–39.5). Ozone’s median of 29.0 µg/m³ spans from 14.7 to 35.1, while SO₂ remains low with a median of 2.1 µg/m³ (range 1.6–2.2). Carbon monoxide shows the widest range, from 260 µg/m³ up to a maximum of 500 µg/m³, with a median of 380 µg/m³.

Because the dataset contains only a handful of stations and some pollutants have fewer reporting sites, the values represent an aggregated view that may not capture fine‑scale variations across different neighbourhoods or times of day. Users should keep in mind that conditions can differ locally, especially for NO where the latest data are over two years old.
