Air quality today

The air quality in Stuttgart today is classified as Moderate. The primary pollutant identified is PM2.5 (fine particles).

Measurements recorded for the city show a PM2.5 reference value of 11.0 and a PM10 reference value of 56.1, based on 14 valid observations collected via OpenAQ. This page is informational; for health guidance, use official sources such as EPA AirNow or WHO.

What the data includes

The dataset for Stuttgart pulls in measurements from 20 individual rows representing five monitoring stations and covers the seven common air‑quality pollutants tracked by OpenAQ: carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen oxide (NO), nitrogen dioxide (NO₂), ozone (O₃), particulate matter ≤10 µm (PM₁₀), particulate matter ≤2.5 µm (PM₂.₅) and sulfur dioxide (SO₂). The most recent values for CO, NO₂, O₃, PM₁₀, PM₂.₅ and the associated timestamps all date from 10 February 2026, showing that those six pollutants have very fresh data – each entry was recorded within the last few days. In contrast, nitrogen oxide (NO) is only available from a measurement taken on 11 March 2024, and sulfur dioxide (SO₂) comes from a single reading dated 21 December 2016, indicating that these two pollutants have considerably older information.

Across the recent data the observed concentrations span a wide range. NO₂ values recorded today vary from about 13 µg/m³ at the low end to nearly 40 µg/m³ at the high end, with a median of roughly 33 µg/m³; O₃ shows a minimum near 31 µg/m³ and peaks above 62 µg/m³, while its median sits close to 35 µg/m³. Particulate matter is also diverse: PM₁₀ ranges from just under 7 µg/m³ up to 56 µg/m³ (median ≈ 28 µg/m³) and PM₂.₅ spans 2–11 µg/m³ (median ≈ 5 µg/m³). CO is reported as a constant 300 µg/m³ at the Arnulf‑Klett‑Platz site, reflecting a single value rather than a distribution.

The coverage is uneven: six pollutants have multiple recent readings from several stations, while NO and SO₂ are represented by only one station each and their data are older. Consequently, the snapshot captures current conditions well for most gases and particles but provides limited, dated insight for nitrogen oxide and sulfur dioxide, meaning city‑wide air quality can still differ across locations and times not captured in this set.

Data notes

The data shown are based on 14 valid measurements and have been updated within 3 days, with the most recent update recorded at 2026‑02‑10T18:00:00+00:00. This snapshot reflects conditions measured across Stuttgart’s monitoring network but air quality can differ by specific location and time of day within the city, so values may not represent every neighbourhood or moment.
